This small test asks whether a new visitor can tell what the site is and what to do next. It asks for no name, email or personal story.

The problem

What we know

Where this happens: The Coding for Justice home page as it looks now. We are not testing the rest of the site yet.
Who gets hurt or shut out: Anyone who gets lost in long, foggy or official-sounding web pages. No one has to prove this about themselves.
What we know: The first version confused its first reader. We rewrote it around three plain questions: What is this? Why does it matter? What do I do?
What we do not know: We do not know if someone who has never seen the plan can now answer those questions.
What people do not agree on: We have no row to settle. We are testing the page, not the reader.
What better would look like: A new visitor can say what the site is, who it is for and what they can do next, and the page feels warm rather than official. The private test guides page edits only; it is not proof for a public result.
What we will try first: Ask five adults to look at the home page without reading the plan, then answer five short questions.
How we keep people safe — and when we stop: Test the page, not the person. This is a small friends-and-peers check, not proof that the site works for everyone. Ask for no name, email, diagnosis, life story or case details. Record no screen, voice or face. Keep full replies private and delete them by the stated date. They cannot be the source of a public result. Any public result needs separate public proof. Anyone may stop at any time. Do not change the home page while replies come in. Stop after five replies or on the review date shown.
